BYU Football announced that it will hold a spring scrimmage once again, but this time in a different venue.

The scrimmage will be Saturday, March 23 at the old Provo High School Field, now known as “West Campus Field.” The switch is due to ongoing renovations at Lavell Edwards Stadium. The announcement comes as BYU is set to begin spring practices beginning Monday, March 4.

BYU announced back in April 2016 that it would buy Provo High School and its 25 acres for $25 million, but the team has not held any public football event on the grounds up to this point. Stadium capacity is not publicly listed, but it is sure to be at full capacity when BYU holds its scrimmage. The most BYU has had at a scrimmage in the Kalani Sitake era was a reported 18,000 in 2016.

Watching a game at LES in March is always a nice treat, but it will be a fun, intimate atmosphere to watch a BYU game across the street.
