IG: @JVO.3

BYU went down to San Diego to land one of the more versatile players in this class as athlete Javelle Brown signed with BYU.

Brown played RB, WR, DB and returner in high school in high school, and could feasibly play any of those positions at BYU. He also has a track background and ran a 11.36 second 100-meter dash as a junior.

As a senior, Brown ran for 6 TDs and 652 yards on 78 carries, good for 8.4 ypc. Receiving wise, he caught 33 passes for 540 yards and 3 TDs. Defensively, he played mainly safety and recorded 17 tackles and 1 sack. He also returned 1 kickoff for a TD. All stats are via Max Preps.

It will be interesting to see where coaches decide to put Brown. Running back is the most pressing need of all the positions Brown plays, but BYU may add a transfer or two before Fall Camp. Safety seems like a safe bet, but Brown could get looks at multiple positions during camp. BYU listed him as a RB/WR on the initial signing day graphic.
