BYU Basketball is set to play at Portland Thursday night as WCC play continues. With seven games remaining for the Cougars in conference play, they retain sole possession of second place. Gonzaga is in first at 8-0, BYU next at 6-3, with San Francisco and Saint Mary’s close behind tied for third at 5-3.
Last week, BYU got run out of their own gym by Gonzaga before turning it around and beating up on LMU, 67-49 Saturday following a breakout performance by Cougar Forward Gavin Baxter.
Portland is dead last in the WCC and have yet to get a win in conference. The Pilots are 7-17 overall and 0-9 in conference play. Their most recent game was at Santa Clara Saturday and it went into overtime, but the Pilots ended up losing, 69-63. The Cougars and Pilots met up for the first time on Jan. 10 at the Marriott Center. BYU won that game, 79-56.
You have to feel like Portland will get a conference win at some point... Will it be against the Cougars (ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives the Pilots an 11 % chance)? Here’s how to watch:
