BYU Women’s Basketball get 7 seed in NCAA tournament

NCAA Womens Basketball: West Coast Conference Tournament-Gonzaga vs BYU Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

It’s March Madness time!

The Women’s NCAA tournament bracket was revealed Monday afternoon, and BYU was given a 7 seed with a first round match-up versus 10-seed Auburn. The game will be in Palo Alto, CA on Saturday, March 23 at 3:30 EST on ESPN2. The winner of the game will play the winner of #2 Stanford and #15 UC Davis the following Monday.

BYU has already got some national love, with one ESPN writer naming BYU as a possible Cinderella.

BYU finished the season 25-6 and won the WCC tournament. They spent part of the season in the top 25 and had Brenna Chase and Shaylee Gonzales named All-WCC first team and Paisley Johnson named All-WCC second team; Gonzales was named the WCC Newcomer of the Year.

Best of luck to our women’s basketball team as they begin their NCAA tournament run!
