BYU Basketball: Jahshire Hardnett, Rylan Bergersen announce transfer destinations

NCAA Basketball: Brigham Young at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Weeks after announcing that they would be leaving the BYU Basketball program, guards Jahshire Hardnett and Rylan Bergersen have made their new destinations known.

Jeff Goodman first reported the news Thursday morning that Jahshire Hardnett will transfer to Montana. Hardnett will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer and have one year of eligibility remaining. Montana finished this past season at 26-9 and qualified for the NCAA tournament as a 15 seed where they lost to Michigan in the first round.

Jahshire started 47 of 55 games during his two seasons at BYU and averaged 7.4 points and 1.9 assists per games. He had a career high of 24 points this past season at Weber State.

Sophomore guard Rylan Bergersen announced earlier this week that he will transfer to Central Arkansas.

Central Arkansas is a member of the Southland Conference and finished 14-19 this past season. Bergersen will likely have to sit out and redshirt this upcoming season due to NCAA transfer rules. He played in 50 games during his two seasons in Provo and averaged 1.9 ppg.

Best of luck to Jahshire and Rylan at their new schools!
