BYU Basketball Recruiting: 2019 guard Jeremy DowDell commits to Cougars

BYU landed the reigning Utah prep scoring champion as Olympus HS guard Jeremy DowDell committed to the Cougars.

DowDell averaged 29.6 points per game this past season and broke the Utah state record for threes made in a season with 117; the record was previously held by Nick Emery. He also holds the record for most threes made in a career with 307.

DowDell had scholarship offers from Washington State and Air Force, but sources close to Vanquish the Foe said that he will initially come to BYU as a preferred walk-on with the chance of earning a scholarship. Jeremy already has a mission call to Argentina, so he will come to BYU after his mission.

Jeremy can flat out shoot the ball and routinely had games where he made five or more three pointers. He lists himself at 6-foot-4 with a 6-foot-7 wingspan and will likely play shooting guard in college.
