With Summer term at BYU starting Monday, byucougars.com released a new roster ahead of the new term. Many of the new faces are expected, but we got clarity on a few positions. Guys whose positions were up in the air include Luc Andrada (listed as WR/RB, now WR), Javelle Brown (listed as WR/RB, now WR), Eric Ellison (played WR/DB at JUCO, now DB) and Blake Freeland (played multiple HS positions, now OL).
BYU also added a couple Weber State transfers as walk-ons. Shamon Willis, son of former BYU running Jamal Willis, is officially on the roster as a sophomore defensive back.
2017 Weber state signee OLB Kade Pupunu is also new to the roster. Pupunu was a 2-star prospect out of Corner Canyon High School and is the son of 9-year NFL veteran Alfred Pupunu.
Here is the list of new additions to the roster; this list isn’t final, as there should still be a few additions from the 2019 signing class added before Fall Camp.
