12th-ranked BYU Volleyball upsets 2nd-ranked Stanford at Maples Pavilion

No. 12 BYU Volleyball shocked No. 2 Stanford at Maples Pavilion on Saturday, winning in 4 sets (18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 31-29).

The Cougars win snapped a 37 game home win streak for the Cardinal, and gave the Cardinal their second loss of the season. The Cougars move to 9-2 on the season.

The Cougars won a thrilling fourth set to seal the win, which saw the Cougars allow a 24-20 lead slip to go down 24-25. The teams would trade points until 29-29, when the Cougars finally took the lead and won on their 8th match point.

BYU had 61 kills and 4 aces, but service was poor, with 25 errors. McKenna Miller had 18 kills for the Cougars while Whitney Bower had 48 assists.

BYU has now won back-to-back regular season games over Stanford, both considered upsets. BYU begins WCC play on Thursday at Gonzaga, followed by Portland on Saturday.
