Where to start?
BYU went into Toledo for an early kickoff and lost 28-21 Saturday morning to the Rockets. BYU put up some decent yardage, but poor run defense, questionable offensive play calling and overall lackadaisicalness doomed the Cougars.
Toledo won the time of possession by nearly 10 minutes and gashed BYU for 242 yards to wear down the defense. Zach Wilson made some nice throws, but BYU couldn’t convert on 3rd and short the whole day and had to settle for punts. BYU went 5-15 on third down and 0-2 on fourth down.
To make matters worse, Zach Wilson hurt his hand on the play that he threw an interception and was held out the last possession. His status is unknown going forward.
BYU now enters a bye week before traveling across the country once again to play at South Florida.
