#3 BYU Men’s Volleyball sweeps #15 Penn State again

#3 BYU Men's Volleyball beat #15 Penn State in straight sets Saturday evening 25-19, 25-22, 25-21.

The Cougars had played the Nittany Lions Friday night at the Smith Fieldhouse as well, and completed the series 2-0 without dropping a set.

BYU opened the first set on fire, going up 6-1. The quick start led to a Penn State timeout, and the Nittany Lions came out ready, going on a 5-0 run themselves to even it up. BYU would eventually build their lead and win the first set 25-19.

The second set was tighter, with Penn State taking an early lead. BYU would catch up and eventually take the lead at 17-16 and take that to a 25-22 set win.

The third set was even tougher for the Cougars, who would catch the Nittany Lions several times but struggle to take the lead. The finally would take the lead onan ace at 15-14. They'd continue to win the set 25-21.

The stat of the game for the Cougars was the team's 13 blocks. Davide Gardini led BYU with 11 kills. BYU improved to 4-0 on the season with the win.

BYU travels next to North Carolina to play a two-match series at Mount Olive. The first match is Friday evening at 7 p.m. EST with the second on Saturday at 3 p.m. EST.
