BYU Basketball plays in one of its biggest games yet Saturday night in Spokane against the number one team in the country — The Gonzaga Bulldogs.
The Cougars come into the all-important matchup with Gonzaga off of a pretty nice home win over San Diego, 93-70 the final score. BYU is 14-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play with that one loss coming in OT last week at Saint Mary’s. In the matchup with the Zags, the Cougars will unfortunately still be without Yoeli Childs due to a finger injury.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs, who have 19 wins and just 1 loss on the season, come in to Saturday’s game off of a massive 50 point win over Santa Clara (who beat Saint Mary’s in the game prior). The final score was 104-54 in favor of the Zags. In the game before that, the Zags beat San Diego by 44. Both those big wins, though, came after struggling a bit in the first two games of conference play against Portland and then Pepperdine but the Zags do have an undefeated 5-0 record in the WCC. The one loss on their record came all the way back on Nov. 29 against Michigan in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game (82-64 the final score).
