BYU Moves to 15 in AP Top 25 Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll

BYU continues to move on up the polls!

NCAA Football: Brigham Young at Navy Scott Taetsch-USA TODAY Sports

BYU’s third consecutive dominating win resulted in BYU moving up 7 spots in the AP Poll to number 15. BYU also moved up to number 15 in the USA Today Coaches Poll—this all being a week after voters were told they would be able to include Big Ten and Pac-12 teams in their ballots. 15 is BYU’s highest ranking since 2009.

People have been debating whether or not BYU is legit dating back to the win over Navy last month. Upcoming games against Houston, Boise State, and San Diego State should provide a better idea of just how good this team is, but that hasn’t stopped national writers from praising BYU’s successes and encouraging the casual fan to buy into Kalani’s program. ESPN’s Bill Connelly reminded fans you can learn a lot about a team, even if they’re not playing P5 programs week after week.

BYU’s next game is Saturday against UTSA in Provo. UTSA lost its game against UAB yesterday 13-21 and will be heading to Provo with a 3-1 record.

Kickoff will be at 1:30 p.m. MST and be shown on ESPN2. BYU hasn’t announced yet whether or not fans will be able to attend the game.
