It’s Taysom time in New Orleans.
With Drew Brees out at least two weeks due to broken ribs, reports are coming in that Taysom Hill will start in his place at QB Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Saints’ QB Taysom Hill will start Sunday vs. the Falcons, per source. Hill took all the starter reps at practice this week. Jameis Winston will be the backup.

Jameis Winston will not be part of any offensive packages Sunday vs. the Falcons, per @diannaESPN. The Saints’ QB now is Taysom Hill.

Intrigue in New Orleans: The #Saints have given QB Taysom Hill starter reps in practice this week, source said. So while Jameis Winston took over for injured Drew Brees last week, signs are pointing towards Hill getting his first NFL start at QB if all checks out after practice.

This will be Taysom’s first NFL start at QB since entering the league in 2016 as an undrafted rookie. Saints head coach Sean Payton has given Taysom high praise over the years, but none of it has resulted in many meaningful QB snaps for Hill. The Saints signed Jamies Winston this last offseason, indicating that the Saints might truly view Hill as a gadget player.
The Saints gave Hill a 2-year, $21M extension this offseason, and now they’ll get a chance to see if the 30-year old Hill can be their QB of the future.
The Saints-Falcons kickoff Sunday at 1:00 ET on FOX. Most of the country will see the Saints-Falcons, including those in Utah.
