BYU rolls over North Alabama to Move to 9-0

NCAA Football: Southern California at Brigham Young Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

BYU scored touchdowns on all 6 first half possessions to run away in a 66-14 blowout win over North Alabama.

Zach Wilson played only one half, but still looked like on of the top QBs in the country as he finished 10/16 for 212 yards and 4 touchdowns. Tyler Allgeier carried the ground game, finishing with 141 yards and 2 touchdowns on 13 carries in just one half. Dax Milne led all receivers with 101 receiving yards and TE Isaac Rex continued his touchdown tear with 2 more receiving touchdowns. BYU gained 555 yards compared to North Alabama’s 361 yards.

The next big milestone for this BYU team comes Tuesday when the college football playoff committee releases its first rankings of the year. BYU is 8th in both the AP and Coaches polls, but it still is a mystery where the committee will rank BYU. If BYU is close to the top 4, Tom Holmoe may be incentivized to schedule an additional game in order to try to push BYU to the CFP. If BYU is closer to 12, then Holmoe may try to schedule another game in order to secure a NY6 bid.

As it stands now, BYU is 9-0 and is off for two weeks until the season finale versus San Diego State.
