When Sean Payton gave Taysom Hill his first career start, lots of NFL fans and media began ripping Hill down.
Fortunately, they’re rather quiet this Sunday afternoon, as Taysom led the Saints offense in a 24-9 victory against the Falcons.
Taysom had a great game in his first career NFL start at quarterback, going 18/23 for 233 yards passing while rushing for 51 yards on 10 carries with 2 touchdowns.
Taysom’s first touchdown run came in the third quarter on a 2-yard run on 4th and goal.

In the fourth quarter, Taysom scampered into the end zone on a 10-yard run, beating the Falcons defense to the pylon to extend the Saints lead.

With Drew Brees expected to be out for a while with several fractured ribs, Taysom’s performance today should be enough to give him the starting job again next Sunday against the Broncos. The Saints moved to 8-2 today and are in first place in the NFC South.
