After a beatdown over Boise State Friday night, BYU now gets to sit back and watch the rest of college football Saturday.
Navy, Louisiana Tech, UTSA are all of this weekend due to COVID cancellations and postponements. San Diego State played Friday night and lost at home to San Jose State.
Houston (2-2) at #6 Cincinnati (5-0)
Kickoff: 1:30 pm MT
TV: ABC
Spread: Cincinnati -13
This is by the far the biggest game of day for a BYU opponent. Houston is coming off a home loss to UCF, but has a chance to get back on track versus a Bearcats team that has been rolling. A Houston win would not only strengthen BYU’s SOS, but Cincinnati would drop below BYU in the polls. Cincinnati has been dominant on both sides of the ball, so it would take a near perfect effort for UH to pull the upset.
Troy (4-2) at Georgia Southern (4-2)
Kickoff: 11:00 am MT
TV: ESPN3
Spread: Troy -3.5
Troy is having a solid season and is contending for a Sun Belt championship. A win over Georgia Southern would set them up for a big game next week versus 15th-ranked Coastal Carolina.
North Alabama (0-2) at Southern Miss (1-5)
Kickoff: 1:00 pm MT
TV: ESPN3
Spread: Southern Miss -17.5
BYU’s next opponent, North Alabama, was competitive in its first two games versus #25 Liberty and Jacksonville State. Will be interesting to see if they can stay competitive with a FBS foe.
Appalachian State (4-1) at Texas State (1-7)
Kickoff: 1:00 pm MT
TV: ESPN Plus
Spread: Appalachian State -21
Texas State is 1-7 but has been competitive in every game except BYU. They’re three-touchdown underdogs here versus the preseason Sun Belt favorite.
Western Kentucky (2-5) at Florida Atlantic (2-1)
Kickoff: 4:00 pm MT
TV: N/A
Spread: FAU -7
Not much to say here. Western Kentucky isn’t very good and is a TD underdog.
