BYU Football Recruiting: 3-Star DE John Henry Daley Commits to BYU

BYU lands the best pass rusher in the state of Utah.

BYU landed one of the best pass rusher out West as 3-Star DE John Henry Daley announced his commitment to BYU.

Daley also had scholarship offers from Stanford, Washington State, San Diego State, Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV.

Daley is the 8th-ranked recruit in the state of Utah according to 247’s composite rankings. He is the second highest ranked prospect in BYU’s class behind 4-Star DE Logan Fano. DE Enoka Migao also committed to BYU as part of this class, giving BYU its best class of pass rushers in recent memory. BYU has struggled to consistently rush the pass the past few years, and coaches made that a focus for the 2021 class.

Daley put up eye-popping numbers during his senior season at Lone Peak this year. He racked up 22 sacks (which led the state of Utah), 38 tackles for loss and 82 total tackles. Daley has a nose for the QB and consistently beats offensive linemen, including double and triple teams, to rack up sacks and pressure the QB.

Daley is expected to first serve a Church mission before enrolling at BYU. You can watch highlights from Daley below.
