At long last, BYU has a schedule update. BYU (8/13) will face Coastal Carolina (14/18) on Saturday, December 5 on the teal turf in Conway, South Carolina. Kickoff will be at 5:30 P.M. EST.

Not only will it be BYU’s second road Top 25 game of the season, but also the second on a colored artificial turf. To make the deal even sweeter, College Football Gameday will be in Conway, as they were originally planning for Liberty vs Coastal Carolina. Liberty had to drop out of the game due to COVID-19 issues within the program.
At 3:10 P.M. MST on Wednesday, chaos began again on BYU twitter with a simple but familiar tweet. This time Uriah Leiataua led the charge:

Within seconds, BYU twitter was ablaze with rumors, and Coastal Carolina became the clear favorite. Earlier in the day it was announced that Liberty’s QB could potentially miss the Liberty-Coastal Carolina game due to COVID-19.
Jake Edmonds from KUTV in Utah confirmed the rumors a few minutes later:
I can confirm the rumors. #BYU at Coastal Carolina is happening.

BYU Equipment manager Billy Nixon had some fun as well, announcing BYU’s game uniforms before a game announcement was even made. BYU will wear all white with royal trim and the gray face mask. This look has quickly become a fan favorite, and BYU’s performances in the combination have been excellent. BYU is 3-0 in the all-white with royal trim, with all three wins being blowouts over Utah State(42-14), Navy(55-3), and Boise State(51-17).

This will be BYU’s second Top 25 opponent of the season, after BYU easily handled Boise State on the Smurf Turf earlier this season. The Chanticleers are 9-0 and are a Sun Belt team, and will. be BYU’s third Sun Belt opponent this season. Coastal beat Texas State 49-14 last week and will play Troy on the 12th.
