BYU Volleyball breezes past USC in straight sets

#2 BYU Volleyball easily swept by USC Saturday night in the Smith Fieldhouse 25-18, 25-15, 25-19, extending their win streak to 15 with a 15-0 record on the season.

The Cougars went through the match without much resistance, as the Trojans had just 3 wins coming into the match-up.

BYU took a quick lead in the first set, with three blocks giving the Cougars distance. They would ride out their lead with hot hitting with a percentage of .478 and 3 aces. BYU won the set 25-18.

A good start from the Trojans in the second half kept them close, but BYU would go on a 15-4 run after trailing 10-11 to breeze to victory with a 25-15 second set win.

The Trojans would keep things close in the third set, but a late run by BYU would give them the 25-19 set win, completing the sweep of the Trojans.

BYU hit an impressive .433 on the evening, with Alex Ah Sue hitting an outstanding .714 with 5 kills. Davide Gardini led the team with 9 kills, while Gabi Garcia Fernandez added 8 more.

BYU travels to Honolulu to face #1 Hawaii in a 1 vs 2 battle of two undefeated teams. The games will be Thursday and Friday, with both beginning at 7 HAST.
