What. A. Night.
BYU rose to the challenge in a raucous Marriott as they knocked off the Zags 91-78 Saturday night.
BYU raced to a 8-point halftime lead and never trailed in the second half as the Cougar Seniors carried the team on senior night. Yoeli Childs had 28 and 10 boards, Jake Toolson had 17 points, TJ Haws had 16 and Seljaas had 12 points to pace the Cougars.
BYU had one of its best offensive nights of the season, shooting 53% from the field, 41% from three, and 78% from the line. BYU’s rebounding was suspect down the stretch, but the Cougars locked down on the Zags shooters and kept them from really getting going.
This win not only ensures BYU will make the NCAA Tournament, but puts a 5 seed in play.
BYU’s regular season finale is next Saturday at Pepperdine before the WCC tournament kicks off.
