BYU landed one of the top prospects in the state of Utah as 3-Star LB Bodie Schoonover announced his signing with BYU.

Schoonover was down to BYU and UCLA and also had offers from Utah and Nebraska. Schoonover is BYU’s second highest rated signee in the 2020 class according to the 247 composite ratings and the top rated signee in 247’s internal rankings.

Schoonover had some injuries his senior season, but still racked up 54 for tackles and 6 TFL. He accumulated 84 tackles and 13 TFL as a junior the year prior. Bodie predominantly played linebacker, but he could potentially grow into a defensive end if he puts on the weight. He’s versatile and athletic enough to play multiple positions, as evidenced by the 26 receptions and 3 TD catches he had at tight end as a junior.

Schoonover is planning on serving a mission before enrolling in school.
