BYU and Utah Men’s Basketball will extend their series at least four more seasons; Josh Newman of the Salt Lake Tribune first reported the news. According to Newman, BYU-Utah will face off in Provo December 12, 2020 in Provo. The 2021 and 2023 games will be in Salt Lake City while the 2022 contest will be in Provo.

Utah won last year’s game in overtime up in Salt Lake City. The game was Yoeli Childs’ first back from a 9-game suspension and he left the game in the second half due to cramps.

The Utes had an up-and-down year in 2019-2020, finishing 16-15 and ranked #114 in KenPom. They should be one of the most improved teams in the Pac 12 next season, as they graduate no seniors and bring in a top 30 recruiting class. Andy Katz recently ranked the Utes #34 in his early preseason power 36 poll. BYU checked in at #46 in Katz’s poll.

Along with the Utes, BYU has non-conference games scheduled in 2020 with Arizona State, Utah State, UVU, Weber State, Boise State, and the Junkanoo Jam versus Boston College, Tulsa, and George Mason. BYU still has multiple slots to fill over the coming months.
