Central Arkansas (-4, 45) vs Austin Peay
Southern Miss (-14, 52) vs South Alabama
SMU (-21, 62.5) at Texas St
Army (-5, 55.5) at Middle Tennessee
Memphis (-20, 67.5) vs Arkansas St
Navy (-2.5, 56.5) vs BYU
Navy is coming off an 11-2 season and #20 final ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll. They lose star QB Malcom Perry to the NFL, who became the first college QB ever to run over 2,000 yards, but return some key pieces on both sides of the ball.
A win against Navy could set BYU up for an undefeated season. BYU could still add a game versus UCF or another quality AAC opponent, but Navy will be one of the toughest tests regardless. If BYU can start the season off with a win, they’ll do so in front of a massive tv audience and give themselves a chance for a memorable season versus a very manageable schedule.
We’re still 10 days out from kickoff, so it will be interesting to see how that 2.5-point line moves before kickoff. BYU will have to travel cross country for the game, but they’ll be doing so in front of an empty stadium as Navy won’t allow fans for the game.
