BYU announced its season opener earlier today with a Labor Day matchup versus Navy, and received other welcome news with already scheduled opponents.

Both San Diego State and Utah State confirmed that BYU will remain part of their 2020 schedule. Utah State announced their season opener will be Friday, October 2 versus BYU, which could create some interesting dynamics during the game. BYU could play up to four games ahead of the the Utah State game, which could give BYU an advantage — if healthy — going into the game in Provo.

San Diego State AD JW Wicker said that BYU will be one of the Aztecs two non-conference opponents.

The MWC will not begin play until September 26, so the game cannot come before then. The game is currently scheduled for November 14 in Provo.

Boise State has not officially said anything about BYU, but that game is still likely to happen as well. BSU had to cancel their matchup versus Georgia Southern to meet the 2-game MWC non-conference requirement. That game is scheduled for November 6 at Boise State.

Below is BYU’s current schedule. BYU said in the Navy press release today that they will announce other games as they are finalized.

September 7 – at Navy

October 2 – Utah State

October 16– Houston

October 24 – at Northern Illinois

November 6 – at Boise State

November 14 – San Diego State
