After a 48-7 blowout win over Troy, BYU Football checked in at number 22 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, down from 18 the previous week. The bigger news, though, is that BYU stayed ranked despite Big 10, Pac 12, and MWC teams eligible to be ranked for the first time since the season started. BYU also moved up one spot to number 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
BYU’s next game is Friday night versus 2-0 Louisiana Tech. The Bulldogs have wins are Southern Miss and Houston Baptist, and are coming off a 10-3 season which included a bowl win over Miami.
BYU’s schedule is nothing to write home about, but if BYU keeps dominating opponents they’ll continue to stick around in the polls. Boise State seems like a it will get added to the schedule, and you never know what games BYU will pick up in November and December due to COVID cancellations. BYU can’t control how good their opponents are, but if they keep winning, good things will happen.
