BYU used a dominating second half to blow out Portland in a 95-67 win Thursday night in Provo.

BYU led by 6 at the half, but shot lights out in the second half to run away with the game. Big man Matt Haarms had a career night with 23 points on a perfect 9-9 shooting from the floor and 4-4 from the foul line to go along with 3 blocks. Alex Barcello had a nice all-around game with 10 points, 8 boards and 6 assists and backcourt mate Brandon Averette chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. Richard Harward added 12 points off the bench and Caleb Lohner had 9 points, 6 rebounds and a career high 6 assists.

BYU shot 57% from the floor and made 14 threes to break out of a three-point shooting funk from the past few games. BYU used their size to out-rebound Portland 44-27 and assisted on 28 of their 36 made field goals.

With the win BYU moved to 12-3 on the season and 3-1 in the WCC. BYU next plays Pepperdine Saturday night in Provo on ESPN2.
