Washington State has had an up-and-down season, but is 3-3 on the year after coming off a win over Oregon State. They have wins over Portland State, Cal, and Oregon State and losses to Utah State, USC, and Utah.
Head Coach Nick Rolovich is in his second season coaching the Cougars in crimson, but his status moving forward is up in the air. Rolovich has until October 18 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to comply with the requirement that Washington state employees become vaccinated from the coronavirus.
Rolovich is requesting a religious exemption, according to former Hawaii coach June Jones. Rolovich is Catholic and the Pope encouraged vaccination, so the likelihood for him to receive the exemption seems low. If Rolovich doesn’t receive the exemption or get the vaccine then there is a possibility that Wazzu could have a new head coach when BYU travels to Pullman.
