Week six college football lines have been released and BYU opened as a 2.5-point favorite over Boise State, according to the Vegas Insider consensus line. The over/under for the game is 57.5.
BYU is 5-0 on the season and Boise State is 2-3 after coming off a home loss to Nevada. The Broncos have played a tough schedule, with narrow losses to UCF and Oklahoma State — in addition to Nevada — and wins over UTEP and Utah State. The Broncos took down Utah State 27-3 in Logan.
BYU is 3-2 this season against the spread, covering against Utah, Arizona State and Utah State. Four of five BYU’s games have hit the under.
One of the pressing questions for BYU is who will be the starting QB, which is likely factoring into the betting line. Jaren Hall has missed the last two games after taking a shot to the ribs versus ASU, and Baylor Romney went down just before halftime versus USU with a concussion, leading the way for freshman Jacob Conover to start. Conover didn’t do much versus USU, but if he is the guy and gets a full week of practice then I think he would be more than serviceable. Romney seems the least likely to start of the three just one week post concussion.
BYU-Boise State will kickoff Saturday at 1:30 MST on ABC.
