After a 66-49 win over a good Virginia team that moved BYU to 7-2, the Cougars jumped from 25 to 17 in the AP Poll and entered the coaches poll at number 20.
This is the sixth week this season that BYU has been ranked — BYU’s 5-1 record versus P5 teams has stood out to voters.
Baylor jumped to #14 in the AP Poll after their win over Texas and Utah received votes in both polls after their win over UCLA gave them a comfortable lead in the Pac-12 South race.
BYU finally has time to breath the next three weeks, with a game versus FCS foe Idaho State next week before a much needed bye the week after. They travel across the country November 20 to play at 2-6 Georgia Southern before the season finale in Los Angeles at 4-4 USC. Both Georgia Southern and USC have fired their coaches this season. BYU in all likelihood will be going for a 10-win regular season when they play USC.
Next Saturday’s game versus Idaho State will be at 1:00 MT on BYUtv.
