BYU WR Puka Nacua has been on a roll the past month, with two 100+ yard receiving games in his last three games. His 551 receiving yards on the season lead BYU after he recorded 107 receiving yards versus Virginia on 8 catches and 1 touchdown.
Puka caught the eye of one prominent figure. UFC president Dana White posted Puka’s TD catch on his Instagram story to his 6.7 Million followers, congratulating Puka and tagging BYU Football’s Instagram account. Dana did not film the video — it is from BYU’s official social media accounts. Dana also retweeted the video from BYU’s official account.

So, what is the connection between Dana White and Puka Nacua? I did some social media digging, and Puka is friends with Dana White’s son, Dana White III. The younger Dana is currently a defensive back at University of San Diego. Dana grew up in Las Vegas and Puka lived in Vegas when he was younger before moving to Utah. Puka and Dana were teammates on a youth football team and have kept in touch since. Below is a photo of Puka and Dana together with a youth football coach.

UFC President Dana White has remained friends with Puka as a result and is apparently keeping eyes on his college career. Pretty cool for BYU football to have a fan in one of the most popular commissioners in sports.
