BYU hosts 2-3 Boise State Saturday while Baylor hosts 2-3 West Virginia. Baylor is 4-1 and is coming off its first loss of the season at Oklahoma State, which knocked them out of the top 25. The Bears are a 3-point home favorite versus the Mountaineers.
Baylor is coached by Dave Aranda and the offense is conducted by former BYU OC Jeff Grimes. Grimes has done a nice job with the Baylor offense, leading a run-first attack with solid QB play. Gerry Bohanan has thrown for 966 yard, 7 touchdowns and 0 interceptions with a 67% completion percentage. The Bears have 3 running backs they lean on, led by Abram Smith who has run for 510 yards.
This is the first game of a home-and-home series that Baylor will return in Provo in 2022, which of course precedes BYU joining the Big 12 in 2023.
