After a 10 day break (thanks COVID), BYU Basketball will finally be back in action on Thursday at Pacific.
BYU (15-5, 6-3) was meant to play Saint Mary’s and San Diego before this Feb. 18 matchup with the Pacific Tigers, but neither of those games happened, thanks to COVID protocols for SMC and USD. The Cougars tried to get another game on the books, even outside of the conference, to no avail. BYU did get in their second game with no. 1 Gonzaga on Feb. 8 at the Marriott Center. The Cougars lost to the Bulldogs (again), 82-71, and that’s the last time BYU played.
Pacific is 6-6 overall and 3-5 in conference. The Tigers last played at LMU on Sat. Feb. 18 and lost in a close one, 80-76. It could certainly be said that Pacific is better than their record reflects, as Cougar fans should well know. The first matchup between Tigers and Cougs on Jan. 30 at the Marriott Center went in to double OT and BYU barely got the win, 95-87.
