BYU Basketball will play its final game of the regular season Saturday night against the Saint Mary’s Gaels.
BYU won its eighteenth game of the season Thursday night at the Marriott Center against San Francisco. Alex Barcello shot a perfect 7-7 from beyond the arc, leading BYU to a 79-73 victory over the Dons. The Cougars have an overall record of 18-5 and are 9-3 in conference play (second in the WCC).
Saint Mary’s is 13-7 overall with a 4-5 conference record (tied for fifth in the WCC). The Gaels have won their last two games, most recently against Pacific on Thursday. The final score was 58-46. Both BYU and SMC’s last losses came against no. 1 Gonzaga.
BYU and Saint Mary’s met once in Moraga at the beginning of conference play on Jan. 14. BYU won that game, 62-52. The teams were scheduled to play again on Feb. 11, but it was postponed till now due to COVID protocols within the Gaels’ program.
