Thanks to plenty of COVID rescheduling all around the WCC, the no. 1 Gonzaga Bulldogs will play at BYU on Monday night.
Gonzaga, who remains unbeaten at 18-0, was scheduled to play Santa Clara on Sat. Feb. 6 but that game was postponed. The Bulldogs last played on Feb. 4 at Pacific, winning that game, 76-58.
BYU has had games scheduled with San Diego and Saint Mary’s be postponed over the course of last week and this week — The newly scheduled matchup with Gonzaga is the only one on the books this week for now, but you can expect that schedule to stay fluid. BYU last played on Feb. 4, winning big at Portland, 105-60.
BYU and Gonzaga met once this season already, also on short notice, in Spokane. The Bulldogs beat the Cougars handily, 86-69. This Feb. 8 game takes the place of the scheduled Feb. 27 game, which would have been the last game of the regular season for the Cougars.
The last time Gonzaga lost a game was just about a year ago at the Marriott Center, but that was with the help of 18,000 strong in the arena. It’s a big ask, but could that magic happen again? Here’s how to watch:
