BYU Basketball is back in the big dance and will make their 2021 NCAA Tournament debut on Saturday night against the Bruins of UCLA.
After going 20-6 overall on the season, BYU earned the 6-seed in the East Region and appeared in the AP Top 25 for the first time this week, at no. 23. BYU’s last game was against Gonzaga in the WCC title game on Mar. 9. The Cougars came out and stunned the Bulldogs, leading for a lot of the game, but fell a little short in the end, losing 88-78.
UCLA defeated Michigan State in one of the First Four games on Thursday night for the opportunity to face the Cougars. The final score was 86-80, with the Bruins coming from behind to force overtime and beat the Spartans. Prior to Thursday, UCLA had lost four games in a row to close out the season. UCLA is 18-9 overall. They finished fourth in the Pac-12 with a 13-6 conference record.
