Two more BYU players are in the transfer portal as Kolby Lee and Wyatt Lowell put their names in Tuesday.

Wyatt Lowell is a redshirt sophomore who was originally with Mark Pope at UVU. He was the WAC freshman of the year before following Pope and staff to BYU. Wyatt Lowell redshirted his first season at BYU before struggling with injuries his second year at BYU. He had shoulder surgery before the season started and tore his achilles in January at Gonzaga.
Kolby Lee is a redshirt junior and the most tenured person on BYU’s roster. Lee started 28 games in 2019-2020 and 15 games this past season. His playing time and role decreased significantly the last month of the season and he was out of Mark Pope’s regular rotation. Lee’s wife is on the BYU’s women’s team after transferring from Michigan State, so his next stop will likely be tied to her as well.
Lee and Lowell are the third scholarship players to enter the portal after Connor Harding entered yesterday. BYU now has two scholarships available, but that could increase in the coming weeks or days. Nate Hansen is one guy that comes to mind — he signed with Dave Rose before his mission, but he could go elsewhere if BYU finds extra portal guys.
We profiled earlier in the week transfer targets that BYU is pursuing.
Best of luck to Wyatt and Kolby in their next spots!
