One of BYU’s captains was picked up shortly after the NFL draft ended as linebacker Isaiah Kaufusi was signed by the Indianapolis Colts. Kaufusi is the cousin of BYU alumni and NFL players Bronson and Corbin Kaufusi. He has 6 uncles and 11 cousins that have played in the NFL.

Kaufusi is a 6-foot-2, 220 pounds linebacker that was a multi-year starter for the Cougars. In 47 career games he tallied 204 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries and 4 forced fumbles. Kaufusi’s best year came as a senior in 2020 he racked up 83 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 1 touchdown. He often came up with big third down stops or timely turnovers to get BYU out of a jam.
Kaufusi was a 5-year player at BYU and is married with a son. Congrats to Isaiah and best of luck in Indianapolis!
