BYU DB Troy Warner has signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Rams. Troy is the younger brother of San Francisco 49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, meaning both brothers will play in the NFC West.
Thank you to the rams organization for believing in me!! Ready to get to work!! @RamsNFL #GoRams

Warner is a versatile defensive back who played both cornerback and safety at BYU. His most natural position is safety, which is likely where he will end up. Warner played in 47 games in his 5-year career for BYU. Warner likely wouldn’t have stayed 5 years at BYU, but a lisfranc injury before the 2019 season forced him to redshirt and play in only the final four games that season and return for the 2020 season.
Warner was healthy and played in all 12 games as a senior — mainly at safety — where he had 29 total tackles and 2 interceptions. Warner was a highly recruited 4-star recruit coming out of high school in San Diego when he chose BYU over USC, Oregon and a host of other P5 schools.
Good luck in LA, Troy!
