BYU is a solid favorite over the Wildcats.

Week one college football lines are being released and BYU is starting as a solid favorite over Arizona. Sportsbetting.ag released it’s week one lines and opened with BYU as a 10-point favorite over Arizona. This is just the opening line, so it will likely fluctuate between now and the opening kick in September. Vegas released 5 early BYU lines in their “Games of the Year” release back in May and BYU wasn’t favored in any of them.

The 10-point line shows a healthy respect towards BYU but it is also an indictment of Arizona. Most preseason projections predict Arizona to finish last or near the bottom in the Pac 12 as they start a rebuild under new head coach Jedd Fisch. Arizona’s over/under win total is only 2.5, which is the lowest of any team on BYU’s schedule. BYU has played the Wildcats twice under Kalani Sitake, winning both matchups in 2016 and 2018.

BYU-Arizona play Saturday, September 4 at 7:30pm PST on ESPN in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
