“I have always dreamed of playing basketball professionally and I am extremely grateful that the FRAPORT SKYLINERS give me this opportunity!” Haarms said in the release. “I believe in the organization and the trainers and I am happy to work and live in such a great city. “
The Skyliners play in Basketball Bundesliga — the top pro league in Germany — and have participated in the EuroLeague and EuroCup over the last two decades.
Haarms’ salary was not made available, but the Skyliners are in the upper half of pay rolls in Germany. This article from a few years ago had the team’s salary cap at 4M Euros, which is 7th highest in Germany. That payroll may have changed with COVID, but the Skyliners are one of the top teams in Germany.
Good luck to Matt as he begins his professional career in Germany!
