Highlights From Zach Wilson’s and Taysom Hill’s First NFL Preseason Starts

NFL: New York Jets at New York Giants Dennis Schneidler-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL preseason fully kicked off this week and both Taysom Hill and Zach Wilson each started Saturday night. Zach Wilson received positive reviews and Taysom had his moments despite throwing a pick. Below is the recap from their performances.

Zach Wilson

Zach played two series and finished 6-9 for 63 yards, resulting in three points. He led a nice drive on the Jets second series, including this strike on third and nine.

He also had a nice third down pass on the Jets opening drive and his first pass was a completion.

Jets fans and pundits all seemed to be happy, including former Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco.

Zach is already doing some missionary work too.

Taysom Hill

Taysom got the start over Jamies Winston and threw a pick early, but overall had a solid performance, finishing 8-12 for 81 yards. His best play came on this strike down the field on third down.

His interception looked like miscommunication, as the receiver slowed down at the top of the route and Taysom missed him.

Jameis threw and pick and a TD pass in the first half, showing his highs and lows too. Taysom didn’t have a rush attempt and it will be interesting to see how much he runs if he wins the starting QB job.

Overall, a good night for the former BYU QBs. Fun to watch our guys starting in the NFL!
