BYU Basketball Adds Road Game at Missouri State to Non-Conference Schedule

BYU added another game to its non-conference schedule as they will head to Springfield, Missouri to play at Missouri State Saturday, December 4. The game will be at 7:00 Central Time.

The Bears could be the preseason favorite in the Missouri Valley Conference and a possible Quad One game for BYU. Last season MSU finished 17-7 and number 88 in KenPom — 5 of their 7 losses were to NCAA Tournament teams Drake and Loyola Chicago.

Missouri State returns two high level players in First-Team All-Conference players Isaiah Mosley and Gaige Prim. Mosley is a 6-foot-5 wing that averaged 20 points a game and Prim is a 6-foot-8 big that averaged 17 points and 9 boards per game. This is a true road game, so Missouri State needs to be top 75 in the NET rankings for it to be a Quad One game, which they very well could be. At a minimum it should be a Quad Two game.

BYU’s non-conference schedule is nearly complete and so far looks like this:

Home:

  • Cleveland State — Nov 9
  • SDSU — Nov 12
  • Texas Southern — Nov 24
  • Utah State

Away:

  • Utah — Nov 27
  • Missouri State — December 4
  • Weber State — Dec 18
  • UVU

Neutral

  • Diamond Head Classic — Dec 22-25
  • Creighton (Sioux Falls, SD) — Dec 11
  • Oregon (Portland) — November

TBD

  • Iona — Coach Rick Pitino said in March this would be in Madison Square Garden, but this could be pushed back a year.
