BYU Basketball released its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season. Games against San Diego State, Oregon, Utah, Creighton, and the Diamond Head Classic highlight the non-conference slate.

BYU opens the season with an exhibition game versus Colorado Christian before hosting Cleveland State in the season opener Tuesday, November 9. The Vikings made the tournament as a 15 seed last year. BYU’s second game will be a good test versus old MWC foe San Diego State in the Marriott Center.
The toughest game on on the non-conference schedule will likely be Oregon at the Moda Center in Portland on November 16 as part of the Phil Knight Invitational. The Ducks are a potential top 10 team and will provide an early season test for BYU right out of the gate. The game will be at 7pm PT on ESPN.
Other quad one opportunities could be at Utah, at Missouri State, and versus Creighton in South Dakota. Potential games versus Vanderbilt and Stanford in the Diamond Head Classic would also be nice tests. Missouri State is a sneaky good game. They are likely the best team in the Missouri Valley Conference and should be a top 75 team in the Net, which would make it a quad one game.
Quad one games are considered home games versus top 30 teams, neutral games versus top 50 teams, and road games versus top 75 teams.
My guess for quad one games are Oregon, Utah, Missouri State, Creighton, and possibly SDSU. Quad two games could be Utah State, UVU, Weber State, and at least two games in the Diamond Head Classic.
November 27 will be a big day as BYU hosts Utah in basketball and plays at USC in football.
BYU hits the road for in-state games versus UVU and Weber State and they will host Utah State and Westminster.
Overall, BYU plays six teams that played in the NCAA Tournament — Cleveland State, Texas Southern, SDSU, Utah State, Oregon, and Creighton.
