BYU QB Jaren Hall went down on BYU’s last drive after picking up a first down run and taking a hard shot on the ground inside the 10-yard line. Hall suffered two concussions in the 2019 and missed last season with a hip injury, so BYU fans were justifiably worried even though he walked off the field under his own power.
Hall addressed the media post game and addressed his health.
“I feel good, just got the wind knocked out of me... Those are some big boys.”
Jaren went on to say that he expects to practice Monday.
BYU had a few other guys go down as well. Leading tackler Keenan Pili suffered a knee injury and will have a MRI, according to Kalani. We’ll find out more Monday, but there is a chance the injury could be season ending.
Fortunately for BYU they’ll have an easier opponent next week when they host 1-2 South Florida. BYU lost to USF in 2019 and can’t overlook them by any means, but it would be a great time for BYU to take care of business and rest some guys before gearing up for the October gauntlet.
