BYU Equipment manager Billy Nixon announced the uniform combo for Saturday’s rivalry game versus Utah. BYU will wear the traditional royal tops with white pants and white lids with a couple slight twists. The helmets will have the grey “Giff” masks — named after the Gifford Neilsen era — and a 9/11 “Never Forget” sticker on the back of the helmet.

BYU unveiled the grey facemasks versus Houston last year, and this is the first time they will wear them with this particular uniform combo. BYU will wear a different uniform combo in every game this season and reveal them the week leading up to the game.
BYU hinted at other uniform combinations last month that we confirmed — they’ll wear the all white with royal accents versus Arizona State and the all navy uniforms with the new navy lids versus Boise State.
BYU-Utah have traditionally both worn their home uniforms in each rivalry matchup since 2011, so I expect Utah to wear a version of their home reds on Saturday. BYU has worn royal blue in each Holy War game since 2013.
