BYU Football’s last game of the regular season is upon us. The Cougars will play at no. 21 Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon.

It’s been a brutal first season for BYU in the Big 12, and the team is seeking its sixth win on Saturday afternoon, hoping for bowl eligibility. The Cougars are 5-6 overall, and just 2-6 in conference play.

BYU has lost its last four games in a row, most recently against Oklahoma in Provo last Saturday. The Cougars fell short to the Sooners by a final score of 31-24. BYU’s been to five consecutive bowl games and six bowl games in seven seasons under Coach Kalani Sitake.

Oklahoma State has an impressive 8-3 record, 6-2 in conference play. The Cowboys played last Saturday, winning at Houston by a score of 43-30.

BYU and Oklahoma State have only played twice previously, with BYU losing both games. The last matchup was back in 1976, in the Tangerine Bowl. The meeting prior to that was in 1974 — The Fiesta Bowl — BYU’s first-ever bowl appearance.
