The AP 25 poll was released Monday morning at BYU entered the polls for this first time this season at number 19. This is the first time BYU has been ranked since week 5 of the 2021-2022 season when BYU was ranked 24. BYU has been ranked in the AP Poll in four of five Mark Pope’s seasons at BYU. The Cougars are one of six Big 12 teams ranked along with Kansas (5), Houston (6), Baylor (9), Texas (16), and Oklahoma (25).

BYU is off to a 6-0 start that includes wins over San Diego State, Arizona State, and NC State. SDSU is 4-0 since their loss to BYU, which includes wins over Saint Mary’s, Washington, and Cal. Each of BYU’s wins have been by at least 9 points, and the Cougars are #1 nationally with a +32.1 point differential average. BYU’s strong 10 ranking in KenPom is also likely influencing some voters to include BYU on their ballots.

BYU has just one game this week when they will play Fresno State in the Delta Center. The biggest non-conference test remaining is trip to the Huntsman Center on December 9. If BYU can win that they have a great chance to be 13-0 heading into Big 12 play.
