The BYU Cougars return to the Marriott Center Wednesday night to take on the University of Denver Pioneers.

BYU suffered a loss at Utah on Saturday night, dropping them from 14 to 18 in the AP Poll. The Cougars fought late, but fell, by a final score of 73-69. It marked BYU’s first and only loss of the season, leaving them with an 8-1 record. They’re a perfect 5-0 at the Marriott Center.

Denver, out of the Summit League, is 6-4 on the year. The Pioneers’ last game was Dec. 6 at Colorado State. Denver was defeated by a score of 90-80.

BYU and Denver have a history, having been conference opponents (Mountain States Athletic Conference) from 1946 - 1962. Wednesday will mark the 68th meeting between the two teams, but the first since 1999. ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives BYU a 99 percent chance of winning.
