BYU added a big piece to it’s defensive line as 3-star 2024 defensive tackle Danny Saili announced his commitment to BYU in an incredibly BYU way.
Saili committed to Texas Tech back in November but changed his pledge to BYU after taking an official visit to Provo over the weekend. Saili is a high 3-star recruit from JUCO powerhouse Hutchinson CC. Saili also had offers from Oklahoma, Miami, NC State, Maryland, Arizona, and several others. Saili is currently the second highest rated player in BYU’s 2024 class behind 4-star tight end Ryder Burton.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 355 pounds, Saili is listed as the 18th best JUCO recruit in the country by 247 Sports. In 10 games this season, Saili had 21 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 blocked kick. Saili should immediately step in and be a day one starter on the interior of BYU’s defensive line. Defensive line has largely been a weak spot for BYU since Khyiris Tonga’s graduation, and Saili should be an impact player in a position of huge need.
You can watch highlights of Saili below. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
