The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday that former BYU QB Jaren Hall will get his second career start Sunday night when the Vikings host the Green Bay Packers in primetime on NBC.

With two weeks left in the NFL regular season, the Vikings are one game out of the NFC playoff picture and looking to make a late playoff push. They are 7-8 and one game behind the Rams and Seahawks.

Hall made his first career start on November 5 versus the Atlanta Falcons, but was knocked out of the game early with a concussion. He has not played since. Hall finished that game 5/6 for 78 yards and 2 carries for 11 yards.

The 25-year-old rookie was a fifth round pick and is one of four starting QB the Vikings have used this year. Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in October. One positive development is that Jaren Hall will have star wideout Justin Jefferson to throw to. Jefferson missed two months in the middle of the season with an injury but has played in the last three games. Jefferson was not available Hall’s last start.

Good luck to Jaren versus the Packers!
